This piano trio is about interaction and swing !! Playing some of the wonderful tunes of the great American song book with a huge sense of adventure!
Will Butterworth grew up in Devon playing classical music on the cello and improvising on the piano, and in 2002 he started playing Jazz professionally in Edinburgh. In 2005 he moved to London, and has worked with many of the UK’s finest musicians, including Martin Speake, Bill Brufford, Dylan Howe, Asaf Sirkis, Jeff Williams.
He has played on many albums as a side man released 5 albums as leader, whch have achieved great critical acclaim. He has made two piano trio albums, the last of which described as ‘essential listening for all fans of contemporary piano jazz’ by Ian Mann aka the Jazzman.
His influences are broad, from Monk to Mehldau and Beethoven to the Beach Boys.
