Peter Jones + Craig Milverton Trio
Tuesday 29 November 2022 8pm Preston Conservative Club

Peter Jones is an exciting, dynamic jazz singer. Steeped in the repertoire of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole, he is equally at home with ballads, latin grooves and swinging bebop. He is also an engaging showman and raconteur, who has written ground-breaking biographies of jazz singers Jon Hendricks and Mark Murphy.
A regular at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, he has gigged throughout London and southern England, Switzerland, Ireland and the USA. As well as appearing with
the Somethin’ Else Big Band and the Remix Jazz Orchestra, he has recorded three albums under his own name, and is now working with the jazz-pop psychedelic project Zoö phyte. His music has been heard on Jazz London Radio, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, Solar Radio and several other stations in the UK and overseas.
Peter has recorded and performed with some of the top names in British jazz, including Sophie Alloway, Roger Beaujolais, Andrew Cleyndert, Duncan Eagles,
Graeme Flowers, Leon Greening, Andy Hamill, Alex Hutton, Anthony Kerr, Tony Kofi, Mornington Lockett, Henry Lowther, Misha Mullov-Abbado, Nigel Price, Ross Stanley and Vasilis Xenopoulos.
“As a vocalist, Jones brings to mind such greats past and present as Mark Murphy; Jon Hendricks; Kurt Elling and Gregory Porter” (Be Bop Spoken Here)
“In a lineage somewhere between Frank Sinatra and Kurt Elling” (All About Jazz)
